the deutsches theater, located at schumannstrasse 13 in berlin mitte, was built in 1850. it is used until today
as a classic theatre.
the last fundemental renovations were performed in the 80s of the last century. starting in 2003 the whole
building complex was structurally and technically brought to contemporanian standards. the single means
were completed during summer brakes as well as during longer close-downs.
– renovation of the auditorium, amongst ohters: renewal of the airconditioning, new wall cladding, new
chairs, redesign of the doors, installation of an orchestra pit
– elevation and technical renewal of the stage tower
– installation of the big audition stage above the backstage area
– installation of a grandstand and reorganization of the directors area in the auditorium of the kammerspiel
– reorganization of the cloak rooms of the kammerspiel
– installation of a third stage („box“) for 75 spectators and serving rooms
– renovation of the historic foyer
– redesign of the cefeteria with kitchen
– restoration of the historic windows and doors according to monument protection guidelines
– redesign and restoration of the visitor washrooms
– refurbishment of the cloak rooms
– restorarion of the building envelope for energy efficiency
– renovation of the exterior space with redesign of the panke
