the marienskirchen‘s nave is the base module for the development of the other parts of the building, such as foyer and concert hall. the vistas from both directions of the victoriastrasse are emphasised by the deconstruction of the apsis of the marienkirche.
the independently shaped, folded roof is based on the shape of the old roof of marienkirche. its shape is altered and defines with its slopes the designed space. the outer façades embrace the new building and the eastern front of the marienkirche as an autonomous structure. the design of the outer shell connects the different functionalities and creates a strong part of the cityscape.
the conversion of the church to a multi-purpose-hall is done economically regarding the historic building substance.
in continuation of the nave to the south, the foyer is spread over three levels. the hall, containing 10,300 cubic meters of acoustic relevant volume, is designed as a personal concert hall thet engages a direct exchange of players and recipients.
