metaphysical space
starting from the simplicity of the space with it‘s surrounding walls in dark blue, the lightening system emphasises the space’s character and creates a universe like a kaleidoscope.
in the november of 1987 a fire devastates stage area and auditorium of the frankfurt opera. large parts of the surrounding building are damaged. in the following building process all parts of the buidling are renewed, even if only periphicallly affected by the fire.
in 1991 a completely newly designed auditorium and connected foyers were presented to the audience.
