A multimedia performance is more than the sum of its parts We see the first and foremost opportunity for the implementation of new medium in the area of information. To an extent not yet known, it has become more and more possible to bring together, to nework and to perceive new information.

A CD ROM, for example, condenses more information onto a smaller space than ever before. The high level of clarity that is gained through speech and text, the possibility of multilingual versions, the response to input, and the opportunities for networking make this medium ideal for the combination of a fast, cursory, consumable surface with the possibility for deeper, more extensive exploration.

The CD ROM as an interactive medium presents text, images, videos, language, sounds and music. The user is given the opportunity to navigate within the CD ROM and then to participate, to shape his own program. The language, the text, and the visualisation are interactively combined. The combined effect of these individual elements increases the precision of the information and guides its comprehension.

Activation - involvement - memory The optimized usage of the medium results in optimized bilateral communication. Activation creates involvement and involvement creates memory. The user has the opportunity to step into an artificial, uniquely perceived reality and this reality begins to fuse together the observer and the observed. ./.
